    HOW TO PATCH

    1. Place the eye patch over one eye (either eye will do.) Adjust it to fit
    comfortably

    2. Place the patch over one eye 10-20 minutes or until you feel uncomfortable

    3. Place the patch over the other eye for 10-20 minutes or until you you feel uncomfortable

    4. Practice patching one eye, then the other, until you are comfortable wearing the patch on each eye for about 20 minutes each

    5. Patch the eyes at least twice per day-morning and evening

WHAT YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE AFTER EYE PATCHING

    -Some physical discomfort-nausea, headache
-Physical cleansing-diarrhea, nausea, sweating, cold symptoms
    -Clarity of thought
-Lessening of mental chatter after a period of increased mental chatter
-Lessening of overall stress after a period of increased stress

ACTIVITIES TO DO WHILE EYE PATCHING

1-Reading-practice reading with one eye patched, then the other, for a few weeks to improve speed and comprehension

2-During a conflict with a family member-for greater positive results both participants patch (usually the right eye)

3-Just prior to any test or examination-during preparation time (to assist in comprehension and retention of material)

4-Listen to Classical music-Handel, Beethoven, Mozart etc-enhances the patching affect (keep eyes open while listening)

5-While listening to verbal instructions or during a presentation-patch the eye that clarifies the material for you

Eye Patching Is Effective For Many Conditions!
    Saturday, July 12, 2008
With one eye patched, one brain hemisphere tends to become hyper-sensitive (intensifying) while the other seeks to compensate, becoming hypo-sensitive (lessening.) This imbalance creates a state wherein the person has two completely different concepts of the perceptual world. One concept is that being directly fed from the uncovered eye to the brain. The other concept is that being shared from the uncovered eye-through its governing brain hemisphere-to the other brain hemisphere.

This condition stregthens the communication bridge between brain hemispheres and tends to create a pardigm shift (a change of thought patterning.)

Some Conditions that seem to improve after eye patching:

Obsessions, Compulsions, Fixations, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Intrusive Thoughts, Chronic Anxieties, Chronic Frusrations, Chronic Grief and Sadness, Chronic Pain, Conflicts, Chronic Anger/Rage, Chronic Fears(Phobias), Excessive Mind Chatter, Chronic Depression, Chronic Substance Abuse, Chronic Over/Under Weight

    Eye Patching for Stress
    Tuesday, July 8, 2008
One of the simplest interventions I have been using and recommending
    recently is eye patch therapy.

One of the more popular uses of an eye patch is to stop negative thinking and obsessive negative chatter in your mind. It is very good for use during anxiety attacks, or times when you cannot shut down the anger.

The left-brain's thought processes are primarily habits. Ninety percent of what you thought yesterday, you will think today.

People with obsessive negative thinking really benefit from eye patch therapy to help them stop this negative habit of the mind. By putting an eye patch on the right eye at any point during the negative thoughts, will slow down the brains ability to keep the thoughts going and release the mind from its obsession.

Just keep the eye patch on for 5-20 minutes ( or until you feel uncomfortable whichever is less) to break this negative state. How often do you patch? How often do you have negative thoughts? I would do it as much as your mind try's to take over with the negative thinking. You can also eye patch when you know you are getting ready to do something that causes you to feel agitation, such as paying bills, or talking to a friend or family member that really pushes your buttons.

I have included an instructional video for you to review as well. I highly encourage you to use this technique, and see how it can assist you in managing stress and anxiety.

To purchase an eye patch like seen on this video clip, just click on the provided link http://www.caroltuttle.com/cmd.asp?af=797164. Once on the site click on store, then go to the other category. The eye patches are $5.00.

Tomorrow I will post some conditions that seem to improve after eye patching, and more specific times to use it.

Warning: Do not patch the eyes during times when depth perception is important. (such as driving, operating dangerous equipment or machines, cutting with knives, walking up/down stairs etc.)
